For me Christmas is all about my children and my niece. I love how they are still so innocent and get so excited on the lead up to it. I love to take them to see father Christmas and see there little faces light up. Christmas Eve is the best, my niece comes to stay, and we get woken up around 8am by 3 excited children asking if 'Santa' has been yet?. Then my parents come round around 8:3am so they can finally open there presents.
Children make Christmas. It holds no religious reason for my family though.

Well as a follower of Jesus Christ, it is a time to celebrate his birth in the world and what that means-peace, kindness, goodwill toward humankind.
It's a season of giving as well as recieving from your loved ones, from friends even from strangers when people say Merry Christmas or Joyeux Noel. One doesn't have to embrace the idea of Christ's birth, but what does it hurt to wish someone Merry Christmas.
It also is a time to listen to beautiful music sung by alot of different musicians. Some are comical , some have wonderous voices.
It is also a time to renew old friendships or start new ones as well as take an inventory on how truly blessed we are , at least in the western hemisphere and industrialized nations , and how we can share those blessings with others who aren't so blessed.
That's what Christmas is to me. It's not the physical gifts I get , I am at an age where I have no more room for things and there's nothing that I really want. A few things I need but that's what my friends and family will get me for the holidays.
Merry Christmas to all and that's what Christmas means to me.

Mainly good things.
I'm reminded more of my Christian background at that time - and the nativity story is more hopeful and warm than the other big story we get reminded of at Easter time...
I usually go to church and sing carols at least once.
I love the atmosphere of the colder weather, the fire indoors, the lights and the presents accumulating around the tree.
My kids' mounting excitement reminds me of how exciting it was for me as a kid...
I remember the german spice cookies my mother used to make (and occasionally still does).
I get the urge to go skiing.
I never manage to avoid a couple of really stressful shopping trips.
I also never manage to escape without overeating.
It means walks in the cool air with a full stomach....
Being at home most of the day with a surplus of family members....
As I said, mostly good things - I really don't know how people can be so cynical about it - it's a holiday for you to do what you want with. If it stresses you out just change the way you live it!

It means spending a lot of money and has completely lost it magic since stores started showing Christmas stock from September onward and TV ads galore, to say nothing of all the "Christmas" ideas in magazines etc.

Jesus is the reason for the season!
Christmas is the birth of Jesus to me & my family.
Since Christmas has got so commercial & confused with Santa, have started a little tradition of our own, since the birth of my own little boy where we cut a cake & sing "Happy Birthday to Jesus" just so that he will know & always remember what Christmas is all about...!
We go for the midnight Mass, sing in the Church Choir, share coffee & cake with the clergy & parishioners after Mass & return home to open the gifts Santa has brought. Our little one knows the story of St.Nicholas & to him Santa's gifts are the return gifts after the party i.e. Mass... which incidently makes perfect sense!!!
Welcome back Skidoo!

I believe Christmas was originally "invented" because we need a bit of cheering up in the winter. And there's nothing more cheery than Christmas lights, decorations, gifts, etc etc. I love it. I love the look on my children's face and I love the fact that for one day of the year, everyone makes an effort to be together. It's about the only time when family is more important than anything.
And I also absolutely love going to the children's service at our local church. It is the only time I do go (I'm a committed anti-church person) but the look on those children's faces always brings me to tears. I sob through the service, it is so beautiful.
Yes, my kids are too big to be Mary and a sheep, but I love our mad vicar, I love the little Joseph who forgets his lines, and the angel whose halo slips. It's one of the highlights of my year and I'd love to thank them all for the joy they bring me.

After getting kick on the butts.
Realise that Christmas is a celbration of Thanks giving in honouring and worshiping God for the Liberation of Freedom for the good of mankind from after world war two.
With the creation of peace on earth goodwill to men in the creation of a new civilization after world war two.
The mystery of what the " Spoils of the war" were all about.
Joshua 7.11
When all the "Dirty old men" kick the butts of God with self rudeness, self prides and self discrimination as people of different races of self racism with self images of standing idol
with self lack of knowledge.
All threw away our creator's universal gifts of life and no longer worshiping God.
With cheap-skate glory and celebration of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past.
Getting kick on the butts as casualty of the dead Mummy in not worshiping God.
Exodus 20. 1-2
Leviticus 26.1, 13
Decode this lyrics " Santa claus is coming to town"
Ever wonder why Bam's earthquakes of Dec.26th 2003 and the Asian Tsunami of Dec,26th 2004 with both incident happened on X'mas day?
Luke 21.33-36
The mystery of Christmas can only be trace with the missing key.
What do you think?

Unfortunately it has got far too commercial, and i have to buy presents, decorate the house, shop for Christmas dinner etc., etc., as that is what is expected of me. But, i wish i could change that and just remember the real reason of Christmas. Poor baby Jesus gets pushed to the side a bit and i am sorry for that.!

I was raised Catholic but I am not at all religious and neither is my husband. For us Christmas is about the kids enjoying themselves, spending time with family and showing appreciation for our loved ones through gifts.
