Erm....although I'm British I have to point out that the inventor of the telephone was either German or Canadian - depending on who you credit for it.
The French invented democracy.
Television has been credited to Vladimir Kosma Zworykin, a Russian-born American inventor working for Westinghouse, and Philo Taylor Farnsworth, a privately backed farm boy from the state of Utah.
I'm not sat here draped in the Stars and Stripes whistling the Star Spangled Banner or anything, but fair's fair, eh?

EDIT: If you country is so great why do brit's always come to America (FL) to vacation? Your own country prices you out so you can't even afford to vacation in your homeland. You come here to America / empty suitcases because your coutries price you out in clothes so you have to travel thousands of miles to buy clothes here in America to wear because you can't afford them in your country. If you country was so great the would at least make sure that the average joe can take a weekend & a shopping spree in his own land.
