I live in Australia and only just realised this is the case when a few suburbs away from where I live the papers stated that a few paedophiles in the area were being questioned over a recent sexual assault on a primary school girl. I was so shocked.

Does anyone know?

As far as I can make out they are monitored it happens in the UK too, apparently if they are only suspected of paedophilia then it is against their human rights to be locked up.
It scares me as I have 2 daughters, you dont know who is smiling cos they are cute or because they are CUTIES.
I often wonder if anybody realises how frightened parents are.
We are on our guard in our small town as we have had a couple of children who had been approached and nearly abducted.

What part of Australia do you live in? I think I heard about that too.

Because the police need to do all they can to make sure the person is innocent, and not a paedophile. They have to be "beyond reasonable doubt" in the criminal justice system. Its a two way streak.

It's miles as the crow flies. Just walk the routes that some have to travel. They're not insulated by a car. Little Red Ridding Hood had it easy. Train your children in all the arts...against every monster.

I am not sure about your country but here the criminals have more rights than the honest citizens. Example. Last month a man serving life in Folsom Prison sued the prison because they locked it down during an inmate uprising and he collected $39K because they deprived him of his rights to be in the exercise yard fighting. He is in prison for murder.

The same reason a killer can walk free if there isn't enough evidence to convict them.

Our society bases it's laws and principles on what it views as bad worse good etc.

It's all by relation. A pedophile that is caught, is sent to jail. They then are forced to post their name and go door to door usually when they are released to tell people their crime and the like.

They are usually forced to go to counseling as well.

Please worry about the ones you don't worry about and be cautious about the ones you do know about.
