Otherwise known as a "full stop," a period is a small dot that appears directly next to the final word in a complete sentence. The purpose of a period is to indicate that a thought has ended, and to prepare the reader for the beginning of a new thought. It is also used in mathematical equations, but is termed a "decimal" within that context. Oh, and unlike the comma, which is used as a visual pause in writing and is generally associated with males (being that it is more manly and has a sort of "tail"), a period is not gender-specific and applies to both men and women. Sure hope that helps!

If you are asking what a period is like for a women here goes:

You feel like you have the flu, you cramp like you have to poop and can not go you are wet between your legs and you can not keep clean. You feel like everyone can smell you and are very self consious. You skin burns and hurts to touch it, your breast swells and are tender to the touch. Any noise hurts your ears. You want to burst out crying at every given moment and your head hurts. This only last about 7 days every 28.

PMS that's a week before and an entire other story!

A PERIOD MEANS ANOTHER TRANSITION OF YOUR LIFE. LITERALLY THOUGH, IT IS OFTEN USED TO REFER TO A WOMAN'S 28 DAY CYCLE. IT IS A "PERIOD' WHEN YOUR EGG CELLS RIPENS AND SINCE THERE IS NO SPERM AVAILABLE, FLOWS OUT AS BLOOD... WHICH YOU CALL AS MENSTRUATION..
