I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant about 2 weeks ago so now I'm around supposedly 7 weeks. I have not had my period since early-mid september which was why I tested. I was shocked bc my periods are usually irregular anyway. I took a urine pregnancy test at my hmo and it was a positive result, also took it at planned parenthood and they 2 said it was positive but at first they couldn't find my specimen! I'm thinking is it possible they were reading someone else's result? And as for the hmo test could it be a false positive? Then I had my ob-gyn doctor do a vaginal ultrasound with really low tech equipment by the way and she said I was around 5 weeks approx. I saw the "embryo/fetus" on the screen on the bottom far right side of the scan of my womb and it was the size of my fingernail, she said it was the "gestational sac". But couldn't it have been actually a uterine cyst or tumor or something instead? How can doctors differentiate between a uterine cyst/tumor and actual fetus/embryo

embryo or fetus with such lowtech equipment where everything looks the same? The reason why is bc I have only gained roughly 4 pounds I'm 103.6 and I used to be 99 about a month ago, and my stomach is still rather flat, and my breasts still look the same to me. Well they are sore and stinging sometimes but not often and they havent gone up a cup size or anything, and my nipples are only a little little bit darker but no real significant change. I also have headaches and feel dizzy but I had these spells for years now. I have not vomited once now although sometimes I feel like I'm going to but I don't and have nothing to vomit. Could my pregnancy have been misdiagnosed or is it possible Ive already miscarried that the embryo has stopped developing and that I will soon "expel" the poor thing in the form of a heavy period?
I refer to my baby as an embryo still bc I dont want to get my hopes up.

Your OB does this for a living, I would say they can tell the difference. Congrats!! You are pregnant!

A good ultrasound technician can easily detect a fetus as against something else. When you say low tech equipment - what do you mean? Where are you located - somewhere with limited medical facilities? Anyway, the other tests you've done or had done all appear to bear out the hypothesis that you are pregnant. In a few more weeks, it'll be easier to see on an ultrasound - even if the technology is dated!

id say yes you were two positive results and a scan if it was just one of those things you werent sure about id say maybe but i think the only way to put your mind at rest is to do another test if thats positive too then you'll know for sure

Face it the Rabbit died! Know amount of feeding will bring it back to life.

You are pregnant! Trying to convince yourself otherwise will not help. An embryo looks like an embryo and nothing else.

I hope congratulations are in order! Good Luck!

I'm sure your doctor didn't spend years in medical school for nothing. If you don't trust your doctor you should think about finding another one. Otherwise, it all sounds to me like you're definitely pregnant.

Is there some other problem that you haven't addressed? Are you excited about this pregnancy or having doubts? It might help to see somebody to sort out your feelings about being pregnant.

False positives are rare if not impossible. However the only way is to wait for an 8 week scan and then they will see the heartbeat.

Good luck and try not to worry to much (hard i know) but all the signs say you are pregnant.

Go to another pathological lab and get your urine pregnancy test done. If it is positive then go to the gynac.
