i took ONE marvelon last night and ive decided i don' want to go on it! i want to start microgynon 30 today! is that ok to do! help plz!

Both pills act in the same way but only have the one active ingredient in common (Ethinylestradiol 30 ). If you've only taken the ONE marvelon you should be fine (as in no side effects) but I would take extra precautions against pregnancy for your first full cycle, as you should when first starting any oral contraceptive anyway. Hope this helps. If in doubt just call your local clinic or even hospital or free health care line and they should be able to put your mind at ease.

I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor to let them know that you are not comfortable with taking the Marvelon and that you would like to know if it's ok to switch to the Microgynon 30 and find out if you can start it either today or tomorrow (taking in to account what time of the day you take your pill).

Do you have prescription to both? If not, see your doctor.
You should read the leaflet that comes with Microgynon 30, or google for some. Most pills come with user information that explain what you have to do when switching straight from another brand. Usually you just take the new pill the next day.
