Unfortunately, English is not precise with some words. This is one of them.
In Greek there are at least four words which are translated into English as "love".
However, for many love = lust.
Eros = Love between a man and woman, usually of (or including) sexual desire. Hence words such as erotica.
Philio = affection for brother / sister / mother / father. Close and warm but no sexual desire included. (Philadelphia is named on the basis of this 'love' and the name means brotherly love).
Agape = affection and warmth to the extent that you will lay down your life for the one to which this affection is directed.
Sorry, can't remember the forth term. It is something like 'sergae'. But that is only a guess.

love may be an emotional bond, or just attraction towards someone. love may be towards ur parents, wife, siblings, some close friends, or towards ur girlfriend or a girl u spotted somewhere from which u can't take off ur eyes.while the emotional bond is really love, physical attraction is just likeness. u can't love a person if u don't find a person's character and behaviour pleasing and appropriate.
