What are friends for!? What are friends for!?

Buy them lots of presents will they like me so so,
what if they're boring, what if they're weirdos!?
If I get too close, then will I catch the flu now?
If I trip and fall at their house, how can i sue them!?!?"

Lol !

Also they are just distractions that keep people from knowing themselves better, but at the same time help those same people know themselves better because they are only suedo pschologycal extensions of ourselves....@ssholes!

There are many kinds of friends that can be part of your life. Some will be there for a while and then drift away, such as school class-mates or players on a sports team. People need people in their lives, to have fun with, talk to, and turn to when they need help. Some will disappoint you or let you down, and some will be at your side if you call. However, a true friend is someone who supports you and your decisions 100% and remains loyal and trustworthy. If you have a person like this in your life, you never have to feel alone, no matter what happens to you. I wish for you to know the happiness a best friend can bring. They are not in great supply, so to find one in your world is nothing short of a true blessing.

It is a basic human drive to have some companionship. Although some need more than others. Some need to be with people 24/7, while some are fine with minimal contact. Even connecting in this way is a form of human contact. Some friends are lifelong, some end up hurting you. When you need an extra hand, need help, or just need to talk then friends are great. But the need for it is different for each person.

What a brilliant question! Congratulations! There is much to be said for being a lone wolf in this crazy society - that way, you don't get hurt!

I admire someone who has the courage to post a comment such as this: it demonstrates true individualism in every conceivable way.

Well done!

I think it helps my self image to have friends. It kind of gives me good practice for relating with people in general. I think friendship is a manifestation of peaceful coexistence, so it's kind of an ideal form of social existence.
