Truth is not a relative term, it's an absolute. Therefore truth should count as the most important regardless of its source.
If the truth was/is subjective then it's no longer the truth, it becomes opinion, belief or point of view. There is only one truth.

What if the person speaking truth was a liar??? The devil (Satan) in the garden of eden came speaking truth but he spoke one lie:

Here is what God said to Adam and Eve:

16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt * surely die.
Genesis 2:16,17

Now this is what Satan, appearing as a Snake said:

4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall * not surely die:
5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing
good and evil.
Genesis 3:4,5

Notice the (*) Satan said exactly the same thing as God, but added one extra word, "not" thus changing the entire meaning.

God said: thou shalt surely die.
Satan said:Ye shall not surely die:

Look pretty similar? A simple typo one could overlook in a paper.

Sorry to bore you with Religion, which is off your subject. But your question was, can truth be spoken by anyone even if it is truth. My point was, if someone who is foul or corrupt (like the devil) there will be truth, but lies weaved within, where most people couldn't discern the difference. That is where credibilty comes into play. If someone lies and makes lot of false allegations, chances are they will be disregarded in the future because they are not credible. Thus, they are more likely than not to be speaking lies. It doesn't matter if a state representative is speaking truth, scandals go on all the time with them. Above all, Truth is Truth, it is not flawed, it is consistant, and the experts can squeeze truth out of the most pathological liars.

"Liars when they speak the truth are not believed" ~Aristotle~

Angel, it doesn't matter who peddles the truth as long as the truth has been verified to be as true as the fact that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Truth doesn't need an instrument. Many times the instrument is kiss of death to the truth resulting in it being doubted.

if it's the truth, then it's the truth. period. who cares who says it if that's the truth.

lol.
or if you are speaking about credibility, then i can tell you, there's no answer to it. how do we ever know when someone is realllly speaking the truth anyway? and nowhere and nobody is perfect nor all-knowing. what seems like an illusion may be the truth and what seems to be the truth may be an illusion. so who cares who speaks it? the key is your heart, do you believe or not.

For a philosopher, nothing is more important than the truth. But as a realist, we all know why it is important for the speaker to appear credible.

It is the intention of the thinker, the speaker, that bears weight. Truth is transient. The deeper one is willing to go within, the deeper one is capable of being truly authentic with another.
