Is it just because the murder conspiracy did not stick, that the government conspiracy has begun?

Why do people love to hit others when they are down?

It's a sad fact of human nature that we love to see others worse off than us and many people are happy to join in the mob mentality and condemn the McCanns.

Kate McCann is a woman who has misery etched on every part of her face and how anyone can believe that she (or her husband) had anything to do with the disappearance is beyond me! She still has the full support of me and my family and I hope that Madeleine is found safe and well and then every doubter will have to eat their words

I can see it, and she does look like a broken woman. Whatever went off that night, both Kate and Gerry know that they are responsible for her going missing, and they have to live with that for the rest of their lives. I just want Madeleine found safe and well, and for her parents to have another chance with her, because they will be wishing for that more than anything.

Why can't Kate McCann say anything that isn't rehearsed beforehand. People suspect that it is because she is hiding something. I am sure that she is suffering because until she tells the truth her conscience (if she has one) will give her no peace. She chose to go out drinking night after night, leaving her poor children alone and defenceless in an UNLOCKED, foreign apartment. Her babies who should have meant so much more to her than a few glasses of wine and plates of Tapas were abandoned to their fate. The fact that she refuses to acknowledge doing anything wrong doesn't endear her to anyone, nor the fact that she appeared in full make up hours after Madeleine disappeared, then went jogging and to the hairdressers to have her highlights done for the cameras hasn't helped either. Then spending the Madeleine fund on her mortgage repayments wasn't exactly well received. When she stops lying, when she speaks from the heart instead of all these prepared and rehearsed statements people might warm to her. Until she tells the truth though I doubt it very much. My pity is for poor little Madeleine wherever she is.

They CAN see the misery on her face: Whichever way that her daughter ceased to be in her company, whether it was she or anyone else who was responsible for her disappearance, she would be likely to have misery in her face.
Misery from guilt.
Misery from loss.
Misery from victimization
Misery from her own deception......
All these would show on a face.
After all, she's lost her daughter........one way or another!
So why would the misery on her face make any difference?

There is no answer to this really! We live in a society were people have their opinion and no one will change it for them! Its sad that a grieving mother and father get so much flak!
As for a few that have answered! They get so much press due to the circumstances! Yes they were wrong in leaving the children on their own but no one deserves what they are going through!

They see what they want to see, I'm afraid. Why let a little thing like the truth ruin a good story?
If she cries, it's for effect. If she doesn't, it's because she's hard. She can't win, so why bother trying.

im sure we can all see the misery, but she is not the only mother in this world to lose a child. I dont think its a matter of hitting her while shes down, i think that its the case gets way too much publicity. Imagine if every little child that was murdered or kidnapped got this publicity, it would be all we would hear and see

how can we know what they are feeling, most people mask their emotions in public,i think if i was kate mccann i would keep a neutral face she gats slagged off what ever she does,if she cried it would be crocodile tears,if she doesnt shes hard faced,i cant understand why they are hated so much.
