we've lived in low income housing for most of our lives. my mom has been ill since we were little. my dad just had a cva (mini-stroke) but because we can't afford no income, he went back to work against doctors orders, and they'd been living paycheck to paycheck. us kids do what we can to help but we can't do it all. my mom is the best. when we were little before she got real sick, she even ironed our jeans. she took real good care of us. dad (well, he's our step-dad cause our real dad didn't want us) took the best care of us that he could and he's a great man! Mom said that she ruined their credit trying to keep us fed & housed when we were little so they can't buy a house. Is there anything we can do to get a house that might not cost them lots of money?

Unfortunately, most probably not. Housing assistance in the United States is generally limited to rental payment assistance in one form or another. Absent a decent credit score and an income with which to make payments, it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to find a way to secure ownership of a house.
