I am about to buy a coat for winter but not sure which kind to get. I would like something that is very warm. I currently have one that 100% polyester which gets quite warm but not as warm as I would like. I have seen a few which have mixes such as 70% polyester and 30 acrylic which don't appear warm. Can someone please advise me. Thanks

too many questions to ask you. Is this for use outside and in heavy weather conditions. Are you going to use it while ski-ing or board ing or are you just getting a coat for around town. My best overall recommendation would be to get a good Gortex shell and you can make your own choices about the warmth factor. Layering is always good so you can vary your thermal protection in the field. That way you can adjust your temperature by peeling layers if it gets warmer or adding if it gets colder.

I have had a huge fur coat for years and rarely get to use it. Its just too warm.

I'd recommend a snowmobile jacket.
