I always pay anyway, so it doesn't matter. Even so, Love is Love even when you're starving and poor. That's the great thing about it. :)

no, it seriously pisses me off when a guy tries to show off beyond his means. I once had a boyfriend that did that - constantly spent more than he should have to try to impress everyone. I could not seem to get it through to him that I didn't need that.
Buy only what you can afford. If that's not much, take your date on a picnic in the park under the stars and share PB&J. That's WAY more romantic than you being pretentious and then me having to foot your bill.

You should never take a girl on a date without knowing exactly how much cash you have on you and how much you can afford to pay for. If you don't have the money to go out, then plan something else or be upfront with your date about it. But be forewarned: if you don't have control over your finances, then you aren't the kind of guy that most women would want or need. Period.

*realize

If I love you then obviously I have been with you a while, and if you were short cash I would laugh and split the bill or just treat you to dinner that night. If it was a first date I would split it and probably laugh about it later on our second date assuming everything went ok up until your realization. ♥ Jordan

Looks like you'll be doing dishes to pay for the dinner....jk. If I met you broke then I would have already accepted that your broke, and I wouldn't love you any less. But for me a man has to be successful like me, so to end it I wouldn’t have went on the “date” with you. Just being honest.

Yep..

Left my purse in the car at the grocery store today and spouse paid the bill, even though I meant to. And he still loves me!

OK here's the deal - i'll pay for dinner and you will pay when we get to my place. and you WILL pay or i don't love you no more. i can't wait to get this dinner over with so I can collect. Hurry - eat - no, desert comes at my place and you can lick the plate clean.

I didn't love you to begin with...I was just using you for your money. Looks like I'd have to look elsewhere
