the fountain has area of 379.94. and circumfrence of 69.08

Radius = The square root of the area divided by PI and would be the distance to the center from any point on the outer rim the answer is 11.0

But here ya go....
In this example you can calculate the answer with just the circumference, too... since the previous answer showed how to do it with the area, this will show how to use the circumference. My answer has more decimal places, thats why there is a difference.

You are looking for the distance of the pipe to the edge of the outside rim.... this is called the Radius. A radius = 1/2 of the diameter, which is the distance ACROSS the circle. The outside rim, is called the circumference.

C= Circumference
D= Diameter
R= Radius

C= Pi (3.14159) x D
Divide D by 2, and you have the Radius.

69.08 = 3.14159 x D
Move the PI over to the Circumference side of the equation, and you have
69.08 / 3.14159 = D
so... D = 21.98887
Since the radius is half of the diameter, that means 21.98887/2 = 10.9944357
