m*n means m is added to itself n times... i.e,m*n=m+m+m+m........ntimes
in case of 2:
2*2 means 2 is added to 2, 2 times...i.e,2+2
thus, 2*2=2+2=4

because 2*2 means the sum of 2 twos. just like 3*3 is the sum of 3 threes. 3*3=3+3+3 2*2=2+2
pretty simple concept here.

when you multiply a # by a second#, that means that you add the first# the second# of times.

so you add 2, 2 times

2+2=4

There is one more number with same properties ...ZERO.

in fact these r the only two numbers with such property.

solving the quadratic "x+x = X*x" gives.
2x = x^2
or x^2 - 2x = 0
or x*(x-2) = 0
so x can either be only zero or two
