Yep, thanks to the goofy Jaws movies. So dumb. Ruining a good time at the beach.

Generally, you're pretty safe if you only go into the water during the day. Sharks generally feed in the early morning and evenings and that's when they're more likely to come close to shore.

As a young child it did, but growing up in Fla and tons of time at the beach it passed

Yes, but since I think Jaws is a fun adventure movie (rather than horror), it doesn't really bother me.
