Yes but you must leave it verticle for at least 30 mins before starting it. - The reason is there is both gas and liquid in the cooling line and the liquid needs to return to the compressor.

On the back of a refridirator os the cooling coils. Transport it on it back and you risk damaging these coils and fridge dont work

it is possible to transport a fridge or freezer on its back as long as you are extremely carefull in doing so but you must let it stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it back in..i know they advise not laying it on its backs..this is so you dont knock the pipes at the back damaging them so that the gas escapes thus making the fridge useless

I wouldn't, the oil runs out and it takes up to 24 hours, if it ever does, to come back.

no they aren't supposed to be layed down. it has something to do with liquids inside it or something like that... um i heard that maybe you can lay it down if you dont turn it on for 24 hrs. i dont think that is true.
anyway my friend told me not to do lay my fridge down when i moved into my new house so i wouldnt risk it.

they do say not to! not sure why - call the people who supply the warranty! they will probably have some reason why it will void it!
