Sometimes, especially if I have put a lot of thought and good information in the answer. It seems the voters don't want to take the time to read all the answers, so they just vote for one of the first few they read.
One thing I have noticed that irritates me, is how many people don't really READ the question, and miss the whole point when they answer. They may read it, but don't really comprehend it, or are in such a big hurry to be the first to answer the question, they put no thought in to it at all.
Then there are those who are just plain mean and sarcastic. I won't even go there, except to ask where in the heck did common courtesy, and mutual respect go?
I must admit though, that I have had a question go to the voters, because my stupid computer went down and I couldn't get to one to extend my question. I Felt bad about that one, because I like choosing the best answer for my questions.
Edit: Lucky D has a good point. Sometimes there just isn't a good answer to choose as best answer.

Unfortunatly, that's the way it goes. It would be nice to be chosen as the best answer, especially if you believe you spent a lot of time and carefull consideration to your answer. But as the old saying goes: you can't have your cake and eat it too. That is how I have felt on a lot of questions I have answered but there isn't a darn thing I can do about it. It does make you feel sad though, and I'm with you there. Sorry you feel that way. >:D< There is a hug, hope you feel better. Hope you have a great day today! Take care, Your friend ~Mike.

I've only let 2 go into voting so far in my Y!A career.... and one of those I went and voted a BA for the person that I wanted to get it. I'm proud of my achievement. I think I'll have ice cream to celebrate.

I don't necessarily feel offended, more annoyed, because I wonder why did they ask the question, and why they can't just, make up their mind. I have actually let my questions got to voting once, but that was because I hit the wrong button on accident. o.o But I totally understand, once I deleted a question but that was because no one would give me a logical answer or be serious so I decided it was better to just delete it.

lol, yeah that has happen a couple of time with the contacts i have, it bugs me even though I know the points are worthless, it would've been nice if they picked me for best answers, especially when I know i gave a good or at least a funny answer... or at least to someone else of course...

yeah I do, but the problem really is that your question may have been asked dozens of times already and people get turned off from something asked already. I personally would answer it regardless of its repetitiveness out of kindness just to make people like you happy.

Sorry all the answers all looked similar, and are too good for me to choose. I would rather someone else be the bad guy and pick.

Most of the time I do. But every once in a while I think they forget they asked the question in the first place.

I don't. because life is busy, and sometimes people can't get back in time to choose, before Yahoo snatches the fun away and answers it themselves and we as the question asker can only sit in the corner and sook about the silly one they chose.
So don't be sad, it happens to us all.
(I was only kidding yahoo, have my firstborn puppy to make-up)
