Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the people involved. There are some very mature 18 year olds, and some very immature ones. Same for 24 year olds.

Yes. While six years may not be as big a deal later down the line, there are significant differences between a 24 year old and an 18 year old, I think, to make the age gap a bit to wide in this case.

I was the 24 year old. It was beautiful. We're still friends (not lovers, having led separate lives), now that I'm 57.
I'm sure many people today find such a situation weird, and I'm sure it can be if the wrong reasons are driving it. By any historic standard, this kind of age gap is trivial.

no.
it only seems that way at your age now. but once you get older it would seem different. just think, if you were 36 and your spouse was 30 (or the other way around), would that be considered weird (from society's standpoint, anyway) ? definitely not.
it's proven that the most successful marriages consist of age gaps from 6-8 years. my husband is 8 years older than me. so far so good.
plus, age is only a number. and the 18 year old is of legal age.

It really depends on the situation. If you are in a rural area where you don't meet people very often, it might be appropriate. If you are in a city where there are lots of people to choose from, it's probably too big an age difference, in most cases.
If you both work, it's more appropriate. If one person is going to school, it's less likely to be a good idea, because school will change that person.

not really, i hear of many happy couples in where the age difference is about 6-8 years, and sometimes is a good thing as there is one person is more mature than the other and can handle relationship situations in a better way.
but these couples got together when they were both atleast 21-22.
in ur situation, it would be best to wait a couple of years until she is more used to being/considered an adult (like atleast 20).

I don't believe so. At the age of 30, I fell in love with a 20-year old young man. We had a "phantasmagorical" interlude. Both of us were married.
My daughter will soon be 45. She married a man 11 years her junior three years ago. She has two grown children, and two grandchildren. He had never been married.
My ex husband, to whom I had been married to for 26 years, married a woman 10 years younger than he 12 years ago. He died of a massive heart attack 18 months ago, and she shot herself in the head with a 38 pistol last week. She wrote in her journal she could not live any longer without him.
Age has nothing to do with love.

Honey, I am 35 and currently dating an 18 year old. Maybe I am robbing the cradle, but guess what??? I feel like I am on fire, and If I can hang and were both in our prime then why not ride this blue crush wave :) Take Care and remember, you dont really get to choose who you love and age is really just a number. When your legal, your legal. -Rachel.

As long as your both mature enough to handle a relationship. You are both of legal consenting age, and that's not a very big age gap. I think you are perfectly within reason. Good Luck.
