Depends on the person and the thing that they did. All you can do is try to not hold resentment or anger. After you've let go of that forgive them and work on the trust issue. Forgiving is much easier than forgetting and you have to truly want to forgive that person if not your only fooling yourself.

That depends a lot on the person and the transgression.
I'm actually in the middle of that type of situation. If he calls me, will I forgive him? I don't know. Can I trust him again? I don't know.
Trust is the most difficult thing to regain once lost. No matter how good a person is, it may be impossible for them to ever trust someone again after being taken advantage of.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more positive answer, but this is the truth - you can trust me. : )
Good Luck, I hope all works out for you.

Its gonna take a long time if you keep dwelling on it, let it go your only hurting yourself in the long run. Just learn from it and get past it, really have a long talk with them and let it be known about them taking advantage of your trust. You have got to work through this and trust again....we all get hurt in this life..........

There is no actual time frame for this. I have been in the same situation and have since cut off all contact with the people that hurt me/tried ripping me off financially. I found this to be helpful. I now have minor trust issues and refuse to lend money to anyone. I give my help in other ways.

Years. I broke my parents' trust in me in 1996 and my dad still hasn't forgiven me.
