Right now? Illegal immigration. Or anything else hyped by the politicians followed media like lapdogs. People have an unfortunate tendency to glom onto simplistic situations as the cause of all ills of society. I guess it's just easier than making yourself educated to the complexities of bigger problems that are the root cause.
A few years ago it was gay marriage...this one mystified me in particular. Just how does that gay married couple down the street (or in another state) that you merely nod to every now and then, but never even know, pose a mortal danger to your marriage and will inevitably be the cause of the moral breakdown of society? Come on!
