Here are non-toxic cockroach solutions:

Neem oil -- You can obtain this inexpensively if you have any Indian grocery stores in your vicinity. Mix a couple of tablespoons with a pint of water and add a few drops of unscented dish soap to emulsify it. It smells a bit funky, but it's worse to cockroaches.

Diatomaceous earth -- This requires some caution. You can put it in corners or other out-of-the-way places. It cuts the carapaces of any insect that comes in contact with it. It should not be handled or digested, so be sure to keep it away from children or pets.

One way is to bomb, follow the directions and bomb the place. or, hire a professional and do it right. It takes weeks for the roaches to finish breeding, you'll never get them all in one shot.
