How often do you defrag your computer? Why that often?

I have an automatic tool on one of my PCs which i use for a lot of disk intensive activities since it gets badly fragmented. You can analyze the drive and see how badly it gets fragmented and decide the frequency. Busy servers and workstations sometimes require daily attention, some others do it once a week, some once a month and there are also people who dont do it for years which is not a good thing since if its starts, this hassle grows creating more and more chaos. If it grows beyond a certain level all operations can slow down and the drive can get stressed out due to excessive activity.

Actually, I don't do a defrag unless it starts acting sluggish and taking a long time to navigate.
There are some people who defrag once every two weeks, some every three months, some never.
It's a personal choice really, but it is wise to do this first if your system seems awfully slow and not working very well.

Like every 6 months or so.. I would do it more often but I get distracted very easily when on the computer..

Every time I go to do it, my computer tells me I don't have to. On my old computer about every 3 months but it had a very small hard drive.

I do that only when it completely screws up on me... and since I got it in August, it's just been once.

Thankfully, the microrepair center is fast and free.
