Yes, he wrote The Four Seasons but he also wrote another 500 concertos for just about every conceivable instrument or combination of instruments. He really established the three-movement concerto form which Bach copied and, in turn, most composers thereafter copied.

I would urge you to listen to Vivaldi beyond The Four Seasons. As great as it is, it represents only a tiny proportion of Vivaldi's great music and is desperataly overplayed (often not particularly well).

Lots of young musicians play Vivaldi for their first concerto because he wrote lots of student concertos while he was a teacher at a girl's school. I have a soft spot in my heart for his Violin Concerto in A minor because I played it in the ninth grade.

the most obvious info is that he's famous for creating the classical piece, "the four seasons." Each part represents the seasons - summer, winter, spring, and autumn. It was composed in 1723. You have most likely heard "Spring," it's been played on many commercials, etc.

i personally like his music more than other classical music. he composed the four seasons.
