Absolutely. Iam a girl, and being female and not liking to discuss a feeling or a mood or a problem earns me unwelcomed remarks quite often. Not only do I not like to discuss what is currently holding me down, I don't like discussing any serious issue, mood or feeling especially when my mind is not clearly made up on them in the 1st place. I do not like setting myself up 4 criticism like my personal favorite... "You are confused" and then an arguement occur because I obviously am now some helpless victim of impending demise. "You could do better for yoursself." You put yourself here." I suspect that you are years younger than me because people who know me do not pressure me to talk about my emmotions or I loose them. I don't trust people who make me feel bad 4 not revealing my feelings, which even if they r sad, down or hostile, they r mine and private. My feelings often come in a rough draft form and it can take a while b 4 they all are written in essay form, polished and ready for press.....so 2 me some one that is pressuring me to tell all isn't being reasonable with me and is actually power struggling. Good examples that I don't want to talk about include any feelings romantic or about sex or my relationship with my old geezer man and when Iam upset in those areas I don't discuss them because I don't want people walking away making thier judgements as they do infact do about something that is so sensitive to me.

Not recently, most of my friends treat it as a two way street. we listen to each other and like to have a response, usually of a kind and most often helpful sort usually we end up talking each other out of the bad moods. Today for friend substitute daughter, she came in feeling rough and began 'well I am in a very miserable and sensitive frame of mind today' to which I replied just 'ditto'. This pulled her up short and by the time she left we were both smiling.
