Okay, I'll give you this: Norv Turner is a HORRIBLE coach and Phillip Rivers is obviously backsliding under Norve Turner's new system. Our offense looked horrible, Rivers got booed at the end of the game, and Ladainian Tomlinson looked just as shocked as everybody else when we pulled off Sunday Night's victory.

But I am getting SICK of all the bullshyt excuses and talk about how BADLY the Colts played instead of the focus being on where it needs to be: How awesome was San Diego's special teams and defense? Count em SIX interceptions (3 from Antonio Cromarite which make 6 in the last two games alone) and 2 kick returns from Darren Sproles for touchdowns! So why is the focus not on them?

I HATE it when a good team loses, but the winning team doesn't get any of the credit. Maybe nobody noticed, but San Diego's offense was almost as bad as the Colts! So why doesn't San Diego deserve any credit for the win?

because san diegos win came lopsided... when do you throw 6 interceptions and almost win? when do you have 1/4 of your team out and almost win? you have got to admit 6 picks and 2 tds on special team are not an every game thing bolts better step up on o if they want to win any games the old fashioned way.

Chargers had a stunning special teams performance and their defense really stepped up. Their offense looked terrible, like it had been switched with the Aztecs or something. Late in the 4th quarter, up by 8 points, 1st and 10 at their own 8. Do they try to work their way out of the hole with LT, one of the best backs in the league? No that would make sense. Instead, Rivers, who had been utterly ineffective all night, tries three lame poorly planned pass plays.
Marty Schottenheimer was widely reviled by Patriot fans as the intangible that helped the Patriots win last year, but Turner is a new low. He looked lost on the sidelines. Even if the Chargers back into the West Division title, they will be eliminated in the first round by the Titans or Jaguars.
Oh and the Chargers should have lost. Even Ted Leitner said today that 99 times out of 100, Viniateri makes that kick.

Good points made, and Cromartie was a beast. The Chargers D definitely contained the Colts' main weapon in Addai. But you can't say the D was "awesome" --- I'm still a bit concerned at how easily Indy moved the ball down the field against the Chargers late in the game (some of those late INTs thrown by Peyton bailed out the defense). And you HAVE to be concerned about the Chargers offense - 36 yards for Gates in 2 games? That's the fault of Philip Rivers. You can't tell me Norv Turner is SO horrible that he designs plays that don't include Gates. Rivers deserves most of the blame.

The Dolts did play well in the 1st half, but were shut out in the second half. The Colts came charging back with 17 total offensive players (they had special teams players in wide reciever positions) and should have won the game, the best field goal kicker in the game shanks a 29 yard kick. SD does not have much to be proud of other than that incredible defensive back. I am not a Colts fan, those are just the facts.

regardless of what our Colt fans are saying, you have to admit your team is in trouble...yes the defense is good, but can be beat as well, look at Minnesota

San Diego's offense tried their damnest to give that game to the Colts...disappointing, because they have the best running back and tight end in the game

regardless of what your ranting about, the fact still remains that the Chargers are 5-4 and really are in a lot of trouble, regardless of how their defense and special teams played, they should have won that game 45-0, not 23-21

Fans will be fans. The Colts fans need to rationalize why they lost. That makes them feel better. There are Colts fans that say the Colts are the best team in the league because they figured out New England (last time I checked, the Colts lost that game). They also say they should have beaten San Diego because they were missing 6 or more starters, but again, the bottom line is that they lost. They played a horrible game and deserved to lose.

Here is the way I break it down. Comparing the game from a logical standpoint:

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION

Colts= SUCKED Bolts=SUCKED

DEFENSE

COLTS=Good Bolts= Excellent

SPECIAL TEAMS

COLTS=DISASTER BOLTS=INCREDIBLE

When you look at it that way, we should be talking about the Bolts win and not how the Colts lost the game.

Go to the Colts website and see who is giving excuses. I can tell you that it's not the Colts, but maybe the Colts fans. Altough, the Chargers should have won that game by about 50 more points. They played like hell and let Reggie Wayne have the most receiving yards of the week out of any receiver in the NFL. He was mostly double teamed all night too. Could you imagine what would have happened if there were Mannings regular receivers were in there. That is what people are trying to point out.

Great Question! Very well drafted.

I've said it in other postings, Sproles and Cromarte are awesome and without special teams and defense, the Chargers would not have had the success they had in yesterday's game. As far as the offense is concerned, I think Ryan Leaf...I mean Phillip Rivers is not ready to lead this team. He would have been a good back up for Drew Brees, but to lead this team to the Superbowl is asking a lot of him. He just doesn't have the talent needed. AND we miss Marty!!

my coach always said, there are 3 parts to a game. offense, defense, and special teams. win 2 of the 3 and more or likely you'll win. that's exactly what san diego did and we came out with a win. there are no excuses.

chill man you won, probably shouldent have but you did accept it and move on, everybody know the colts are really banged up right now they couldent run their offense the way they usually do, that have lots of issues and you cant tell me that the injuries arent changing their game, either way you got a win over the champs and thats to be commended the next time you face them may be in the playoffs, but you have to be concerned with the dolts they are nowhere near the team they were last year, you should be venting your anger at a.j. smith not colt fans, hes the one who screwed up your team (p.s. im not a colt fan)
