Muffins, add a Deservedly and remove as expected.. He's been amazing the whole season.. I knew he would get it.. Or atleast expected him to win it 99%.. He deserves it totally.. He's been lethal and done great in Man Utd and for Man Utd.. He has truly emerged as a star for Utd after Ronaldo left.. What a player!! He's the best!! I LOVE YA ROOOOONNNNEEYYY!! And yeah, my heart broke into millions and billions of pieces when that @$$ Milner took the young player of the year award away from my Cesc.. He so deserved it.. *cries horribly* But, no worries, we all, here, know what a star Cesc really is and he doesn't need these awards to prove it.. He's the best young player.. And at 22 (only 4 yrs elder 2 me.. does he have a gf? Will he marry me? I'll support Arsenal and Utd 50-50..) he's one of the best players in Europe...... He's a world class player.. I just hope both Rooney and my sweetheart Cesc get well soon and play in the WC.. Oh, btw, I'm supporting Spain.. YAYYYY!! I'm not surprised Lampard dint make it to the team of the year.. I don't like him much.. He's good, but not world class... Cesc made it!! YAY!! And so did Rooney and Vermaelen.. So, they deserved it more than Lampard.. OOO Valencia.. Congrats!!

Don't know squat about Rugby, however in most sports awards 'belong' to the awarding party. Some awards are voted on by opposing coaches/managers. Some are voted on by opposing players. Some are given by magazines and publications, others still by professional writers who follow the sport. These awards all have different names, and may or may not have the same criteria as each other.

Player of the year, for he is better than all players overall.
the MVP is the person who helped his team the most, but not necessarily been player of the year, for it looks at things AWAY fromt he field of play

mvp is the one who was most valuable to the overall team while player of the year has the best stats as an individual.
it's all how you look at it. both are great in their own way. congrats.

In today's world, if you want to keep the pace then you have to run to stay where you are. By simply doing what we were doing, we will get what we were getting. So to became a player of year one need to excel in all field not just one best performance.

The MVP is honored for his or her outstanding effort which led the team to victory. Player of the Year goes to the athlete who steadily made efforts into having his team enjoy outstanding game victories.
