North and East of the city have a great mixture of towns and neighborhoods. The Northwest area of the city has old established sections, such as Andorra, Roxborough, Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill. The suburbs branching out from these areas are well-established and middle-class. Montgomery County envelopes this section of the city and farther out, to the North and East is Bucks County, a really nice, more country setting. Immediately north of Chestnut Hill (far NW of City) are beautiful communities including: Lafayette Hills,Flourtown, Oreland, Plymouth Meeting , Ambler, Springfield (Mont Co.). To the East (RT 611) are Cheltenham, Glenside, Roslyn, Willow Grove, Ardsley and farther out (with excellent bus and Rail service) are communities such as Horsham, Warminster, Fort Washington, Dresher, Abington and Jenkintown. Schools are highly rated in Montgomery County and there are many Shopping outlets, e.g.- Plymouth Meeting Mall. Montgomery Mall, etc. A little farther out is Bucks County with excellent Communities including Hatfield Doylestown, Warrington, Telford, Quakertown. So basically North and East of the city, (RT. 309) to the North and Easton Road (RT. 611) to the East are all good choices; good, safe schools and all the shopping and restaurants you could ever need! Good luck!

I think Wayne is the nicest suburb. If you are a millionaire, move to Gladwyne or Bryn Mawr or Haverford.
Chester County is beautiful and more affordable. It's just a long way to the city from there.
Narberth is nice, too. Small town feel.

If you have the money, hit the main line (Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Radnor, Paoli, etc.). If you want to go out a little further, West Chester is a nice and up and coming community. If going on the northeast side of the city, go for Doylestown. King of Prussia isn't too bad, either if you want north of the city.

King of Prussia, represent. The town of King of Prussia is upper middle class and safe as can be, the people are friendly, and we have literally every commercial establishment you could dream of. Plus we are way cheaper than the mainline in terms of housing costs. Just do yourself a favor and check King of Prussia, PA

Anything on the Main Line (Merion, Ardmore, Radnor, Gladwyne, etc.). Blue Bell and Gwynedd are nice too. Depends on what you are looking for.
