The perfect record is a very rare occurrence. The fact is both the Cowboys and the Packers are 8-1. They have the best records in the NFC and both teams have national followings. The Cowboys were known as America's Team in the 90s and the Packers captured national attention in the 60s and have been popular nationally since. Their potential match up in the NFC final would conjure up classic games between Bart Starr's Pack and Don Meredith's Cowboys played in 20 degrees in Lambeau Field in the late 60s. In other words, the potential for two 8-1 teams going 15-1 and meeting in the playoffs is compelling enough without the need for one of them to be perfect.

You can what if all you want. If they would have beat the Patriots instead of getting killed by them they would still have a chance to go for a perfect record but they didnt. All a perfect record is good for is bragging rights anyway the real prize is the Super Bowl. If Dallas were to win the Super Bowl who besides Patriots fans are going to remember that loss in the regular season.

I think I would have phrased that: If the Cowboys had beaten the Patriots, would people............ That said, Yes, I think they would. There is a cross section of fans that is disappointed when the last undefeated team loses. Someone will eventually break that record, and then we will have to hear about them for the next 30 years or so.

Yes.

They have looked good against the toughest of their opponents.

If the Patriots weren't on their schedule, you probably would hear a lot of stuff coming from Cowboy fans.

I still think the Cowboys are a great team and I will root for them the rest of the season.

There's a reason people like Terry Bradshaw are saying the Pats will have a perfect season, and it's not because they've won 9 games. It's because the Pats are great. They crush opponents, and they're healthy. They have a cake walk schedule, and only have one team, the steelers, who have a chance of beating them.

Since the Cowgirls are like a lightning rod, their fans (notice how full the bandwagon is lately) would follow their "Impossible Dream" while the rest of us would root for any team that played them.

The broke bake boys aren't the best team in the NFC. They are old news. The Packers are taking back their right full spot atop of the NFC. I can't wait until that game.
