Please someone help me out here. We are hardly having sex. Since I'm off the pill I feel soo much better, mood swings are subsiding and my humour is a lot more stable. However, he doesn't like the idea of using or doing anything that "interferes" with the moment. I don't want to go back on the pill because I like myself better this way, but this situation is not sustainable. Please readers, I need your sound advice

An IUD may be an option
Do not do Depo! If this is thre result of the pill Depo will make your mood swings worse It is nearly pure progesteon.

I used Depo for years and foudn it not suitable as my moods vanished. No fun loving me anymore. So I went off but switched to IUD.
Later my ex had a vasectomy which made my life easy
Now, with my SO, I am on the lightest pill I can get that is still safe. I like it

I would suggest your partner to use condoms anyway for now. He'll get used to it. It does not interfere with the moment. Besides a little selfish isn't it It is ok for you to have mood swings (take about spoiling the moment) but not to interfere with his pleasure.
It is the responsibility of both not one

If you are a fan of "Seinfeld", you will remember the episode where Elaine found that her favorite form of contraception - the Today sponge was being taken off the market. She stocked up and would consider whether each guy was "sponge worthy" before sleeping with him.

I know, a long way to go for this answer, but: After I had my children and was nursing I didn't want to go back on the pill and used the sponge with great success.

Guess what - they're back on the market! Check out your local drugstore. Of course they're not as reliable as the pill or other drug based forms of contraception, but as I said, I had great success.

If you can use a tampon, try the sponge. It can be inserted up to 24 hours before intercourse and needs to stay in place for a few hours after to be affective, so it doesn't interfere with the moment. It contains a spermicide and is inserted against your cervix to also act as a barrier.

Check out www.todaysponge.com for more info.

Good Luck - I'm glad to hear you're feeling better off the hormones!

What about using female condoms? Or getting a IUD? Or if you don't want children, he can get a vasectomy. I wouldn't recomend Depo, since it has way more side effects than 'the pill'. Also, did you know that not all pills are the same? Have you tried other brands? What about the Nuva Ring? It's a low dose of hormones, but may be better tolerated by you.

There are IUD that are inserted into the uterus that prevents pregnancy from occurring or there are the Depo Provera injections that prevents pregnancy and most of the time stops you from having periods all together. There are several options out there other than the pill and condoms...see your local gynecologist for the best advice for your age, social habits and your health status. I've been in this profession for over 25 years and each lady can be different. See your dr.

Keep in mind that whatever form of birth control method you CHOOSE to use it is NOT 100% effective. There are NO birth control methods that are and the use of a condom is just about the only way you can make any form of birth control 100%. I have known women who became pregnant using the IUD. I got pregnant twice on the pill. I have a step sister we call the Depo Queen because she has 8 children...5 of them concived on Depo. Since your husband feels that a condom would "interfere" with the moment...Ask him how much inteference a newborn would be...

i have the IUD and it has worked well for me. Had implanted in Aug and it didn't hurt a little uncomfortable but no pain as i took 2 Motrin an half hour b4 going. in my opinion IUD is WAYYY better than taking the pill. good luck.

P.S. the Coppertone has no hormones and lasts 10 years and can be removed anytime.

What should you do? Start picking out baby names and colors for the nursery!

Or... go to your doctor! There are multiple forms of the pill, other medical approaches, etc. Get some help from the professionals.

Hubby sounds like a jerk. He's so concerned about his pleasure that he won't wear a condom. But doesn't care if you have to raise all the kids he's gonna let you pump out. This guy needs to take responsibility for his sexual actions.

Tell the selfish guy no glove no love.

sweetie if you dont want kids than you need to use other means of protection. consult with your doctor and you both come up with the right protection for you. you body needs a rest from contraceptives orally anyway. maybe you should try the shot that is given every three months. seek professional help from your doctor. If you are not ready to have and raise a child, you had better find some sort of birth control that will work for you, but I guess you probably already know that.

have you thought about or looked into IUD?
