I seem to have met quite a few bi women but no bi guys in my sheltered little life

Or is it that bi guys don't tend to open up as much about their sexuality?

I think you should really stop comparing everyone you meet to me... I mean, I'm wonderful in all my bisexual glory... but I mean really... this is bordering on hero worship...

For a man to admit that he's bisexual is to basically go against everything that society has taught him as a "heterosexual" man.. it's basically admitting something very private and "invasive" if you know what I mean... men are treated horribly for being gay or bi, whereas women are treated like they may just hold the key to a life long of pornographic fantasies...

aww Frogme loooooooooooves me...

Yes, there have been studies on this.

It is factual that women are more likely to be bisexual than men. Why? It goes along with current beliefs about homosexuality: that there is a genetic component that makes a person prone to becoming homosexual, and that environmental influences also effect whether or not those with the gene will actually become homosexual.

Males realize homosexuality and heterosexuality around the same time. This leads men to be more likely one or the other, so less men are bisexual.

For females, homosexual attraction is realized later than heterosexual attraction, so it leaves them more likely to develop feelings for men before they realize their feelings for women. Girls who are "raised straight" can become sexually attracted to males, but, if their environment works to bring out their genetic homosexual tendency (for lack of a better word), then they will realize their attraction to females, while remaining attracted to males.

This is the current scientific finding. No one will become homosexual or bisexual without the said genes, but even those with the gene can still end up completely heterosexual, depending on outside influences. I do not believe it has been determined whether or not individuals with the gene can be "destined" to become homosexual regardless of their environment.

Research on bisexuals is still quite young. More needs to be done to truly understand how it occurs. Actually, research on homosexuals is young, but more studies have been done on them than on bisexuals. The relation between this suspected gene and the environment need to be further looked into, as well. Science can be quite interesting!

I have not met all of the bi sexual people in the whole world so I cannot give you an accurate number but I think It depends on who you know and what kind of people they are ( if they feel comfortable around you, bisexuals would more likely "come out" to you therefore making it seem as if there are more in general.)
Hope that makes sense.

I think every living creature is bisexual by nature. It's all the cognitive thinking processes that society has instilled in our brains, or rather what we choose to believe, that creates what we think we are.

It may be equal, but women are more free with their sexuality than men are. More women will say they are bisexual than men will.
