for the history you're wanting to concentrate in exactly what you wrote. The classes will often have titles related to the location. Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, etc...

for the religious studies it depends on whether you want to study religion as a social science (interaction of people in a religious organization or as society) or as a profession. The former is simply 'religion' and is often a department with philosophy. The latter is 'theology'.

Ancient History is not an easy subject. It needs a lot of talents, skills and energy

This is what you can do.

First, take the basic course first sothat when you go higher, you can comprhened better for the theories and principles behind this subject or course.

Second, try to read the encyclopedia or connect it from the internet. From the internet alone, you can gain many insights about your environment and other subsystems.

Third, you associate Ancient history from that of your environment. The present has something to do with the past.

History, Classics, Anthropology (for pre-history), could also find interesting courses in Asian studies, Latin America studies etc. and religious studies.
