Now i cannot advise you coz you have already decided to do it. So then find here the instructions for you :-
Yahoo! members can remove their own accounts and account information from Yahoo!. Please follow the instructions below to initiate the deletion of your account.
By terminating your account, you will lose access to your Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and profile names. We will also delete your account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This includes any contents in:
Yahoo! Mail
Yahoo! Address Book
Yahoo! HotJobs
GeoCities
Yahoo! Briefcase
My Yahoo!
Yahoo! Groups
Finance Portfolio
Any other area of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password
Please be sure you want to delete your entire account as you will not be able to reactivate it after the account has been deleted.
Follow this Link to Delete (Termination) from Yahoo Service

Enter your login details and then fill up the required fields. at the bottom left u will find a button to confirm delete account.

You can't, unless you delete your entire yahoo account emails and all. Even then your Q&A will still be accessable by doing an internet search. About the best you can do is remove all your contacts and fans, set your profile to private, and change your name and avatar.

There is actually no way to delete the account.You just have to prevent logging in for 5 months,the whole account will then be inactive.

There is no way you can do it. I do agree with one on top ..... be inactive for 5/6 months so that the yahoo people do not remember you.
