Pretty sure that this was a (paraphrased) quote from a politician a few decades back.

Who the heck was it please? And do you agree?

I think it was a quote from Will Rogers (circa 1920's/1930's). I tend to agree with it.

It's a cute quote, but that's all.

There are a great many good public servants out there. I've gotten to know some of them. Sure there are some typical hacks, but many representatives really want to serve the public and think of it as an honorable profession. Try to get to know a few of them, and you'll see why. Most of them could make a lot more money doing other things.

The original idea of the founders was for government service to be temporary. I think all the power greedy politicians have extrapolated that to mean "anything short of infinite".

I agree whole-heartedly that elected officials who try to make a career out of being elected officials should take a close look in the mirror and honestly assess if they are serving their constituency, or serving themselves.

Ya it is a quote......I don't agree that everybody who wants to be 1 shouldn't but I do believe that some who are, shouldn't

dont know who said it but I agree ....... mostly slimeball liers who cant hold a real job and will live nicely on your tax dollars
