I've been reading and posting on politics for a few weeks now and I've been amused at the throwing around of the evil "they". They believe X. They don't think. They are worse than Hitler. Who is They? Is it your neighbor? Is it the parent of your child's best friend? A teacher? Your librarian? Your postal carrier? So much hate is wrapped up in this mysterious They.

Oddly enough, They also are the ones who tell us what's healthy, what's popular, what's unacceptable. Who are they?

Can They ever become Us? Meaning, someone who might be referred to as They becomes an Us as you agree with something they also believe in.

They, for me, are neoconservatives. I typically state "neo-con" in place of "they" or "them" as to leave no room for mistaking as to whom I am referring to.

Also, "they" are often meteorologists. Ex: "They said it might rain today"

"They" could be any number of people or establishments. I guess it depends what you are talking about exactly to identify "they."
