I didn't think it was true but my boss told me today that you couldn't eat it because it has soft cheese in it but I've never heard of that before.

I've never heard of that, and can't even think of any possible reason why you wouldn't be able to!

Edit: To add on to your comment... tell your boss that typically the only soft cheese in cheesecake is CREAM CHEESE.

I became a true lover of non baked cheesecake when I was pregnant, at first I loved the baked cheesecake then I tasted the nonbake when I was at my first babyshower. It was delicious. Needless to say I had 3 more children and the cheesecake is even better now!!!

of course you can. cheesecake is baked, so if there were any bacteria in the cheeses (which is highly unlikely in America) they would be killed off by the heat of the oven.

the soft cheeses that you need to worry over are imported cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, which are often made from unpasteurized milk. All domestically produced cheeses must be made from pasteurized milk, which kills the listeria bacteria. Your chances of contracting this bacteria are slim to none.

Your boss is misinformed. Cream cheese is not one of the soft cheeses that they refer to.
Go to this website:www.awhonn.org. This is a complete list of foods you should avoid and why.
This list was given to me by my nutritionist last year when I was pregnant.

I would think that as long as it didn't have any liquor in it, you would be fine. Congratulations!! Listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs - and if it says "Cheesecake" - go have Cheesecake!!!!
