Ashford and Simpson?

Question

I would like to know if
Ashford and Simpson are married
and if
Peaches and Herb were ever married.
I think Herb (not sure of his real name) is desceased that is
why I used "were" instead of "are".
I was born in 1979 so I don't know about this singers/songwriters personally and I was curious to know if
they were married.

I am so happy to here that they are married. It is one thing for your spouse to work with an attractive person but it is another when they write love songs together.
I am relieved that Ashford and Simpson do not have spouses that would be concerned of any affair between the two of them.

I recently watched a Time Life Music infomercial for 70's music hosted by Ashford and Simpson.
I enjoyed listening to the music from the 70's and would like to order this for my parents as an excuse to listen to it myself.

Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson are married.

The duets they wrote for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell are legendary:
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"
"Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing"
"Your Precious Love"

The rest of their song catalog is full of hits also. Look it up. They had successful careers as both writers and performers.

There are no records to indicate that Peaches and Herb ("Herb" Fame and Francine "Peaches" Hurd Barker) were ever married, but there were rumors of a romantic relationship.

"Peaches" Barker left the duo because she didn't like touring, and there have been four other "Peaches" since. It was Ms. Barker who died (in 2005) not Herb.

It was Linda Greene who sang with Herb on their 70's hits:
"Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Reunited".

I love the older R&B singers and have great respect for them and their music.

Yes, Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson are husband and wife in real life. They've been married since 1974. As for Peaches & Herb, there were at least two incarnations of them. The first was Herb Fame and Francine Barker. They had some hits in the 1960s like "Let's Fall In Love". "Close Your Eyes", "For Your Love", and "Love Is Strange" and then disbanded. They never were married. In 1977, Herb re-formed the group with Linda Greene and they had two big hits in the late 1970s such as "Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Reunited". Like with the previous Peaches, Herb never was married to Linda and it's been reported the two did not get along.
