this may sound confusing but, here goes.
i've always been fascinated by the history of america at war. i'm just trying to get the timeline, and parties associated correct ,in any war or conflict concerning the u.s.a. after the civil war. if anyone knows these things or knows a good place to look, it would be appreciated.

Wikipedia (which contains much unverified material) is rarely
the best source -- though sometimes it is pretty much the only
general source quickly available on the Net. If you use it with
care, however, it can be valuable.

Get a list of wars and a general introduction from a reputable
reference work like the Encyclopaedia Britannica, and then
branch out into specialized works for conflicts that strike your
fancy.
