I agree with you, Kansas should be talked about. They may no thave played many really good teams this year, but they did something no other team did when they played lesser competition and that is WIN. They are the last undefeated in a major conference so why not talk about them, and if they rin the table and dont make the title game i am not watching the title game. That would just be flat out low.

IF they beat Mizzou and Oklahoma, that WOULD be a big feat and should earn them some merit, but what have they done all year to make anyone feel that this will happen?
I also love how even though Kansas is probably considered the 4th or 5th best team in their own conference (even given that they are undefeated) people want to proclaim them as some great team, yet they don't want to give Hawaii credit because they play in a lesser conference. I'm not saying that Hawaii should be 1 or 2 or anything, but Don't feed me some BS that Kansas is 100x better than them just because they play in the Big 12. They are still an average team at best.
Also, I am a little disappointed with ALL of college football this year. It's a lot like the NL Central was in baseball. It seems like NO ONE WANTS TO WIN IT ALL. The Cubs survived longer than everyone else, but they didn't really do anything impressive to show that they were deserving of the title. Same in college. So many "great" teams have lost. Even LSU hasn't looked really good. Despite their loss, they have several victories that they barely pulled out. I guess I don't get excited watching to see who the last man standing in a royal rumble is. I'd rather see someone go out and take claim of the title.

If there are 2 unbeaten teams left, they deserve to play in the National Title game. Boise State was definitely better than Wake Forest or Oklahoma last year and arguably better than USC, Ohio State, or possibly even Florida. Hawaii is this year's top WAC team and if they go undefeated along with the Jayhawks, the 2 teams should play each other for the National Title.
If both go undefeated and the BCS puts LSU and Oregon 1 and 2, then they can at least put Kansas and Hawaii in the Fiesta Bowl against each other so that we can see who the real national champion is and then pay no attention to the BCS title game of 1-loss teams the following week.

If Kansas wins out (which they wont) they will move up to the number 1 ranking. Being undefeated in one of the major conferences would be enough even with a weak non-conference schedule. It will be very tough to win back-to-back games against Mizzou and Oklahoma, but they are a pretty good team and if they can do it, they will go to the national championship game (and then get slaughtered by LSU or Oregon)

If they can beat Mizzou and OU then yes, they deserve to play for the national title and be ranked #1. They had a tough schedule and if they can win out they have earned their right to play for all the marbles. They remind me alot of the OU national title team of 2000...OU was 7-5 the season before 2000 (Kansas was 6-6 last year) and NOBODY expected OU to win the National Title, but all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place and OU went 13-0.

I will be so happy if Kansas gets in along with LSU. It'll finally shut all those Oregon fans up. Kansas is in a better conference than the Pac-10 anyway which doesn't have the stones to hold a conference championship.

*IF* the beat MU and the Big XII south champ then they absolutely deserve a spot in the national championship game.
If they lose to Missouri *or* Oklahoma then they are no worse off than LSU, Oregon, Missouri, West Virginia, Arizona State or Oklahoma, all of who also lost to ranked teams.

If they can beat Mizzou and Oklahoma, then they deserve to compete in the National Chamipionship game.
Sure, their opponents are comparable to Ohio State's, but Texas A&M, Colorado, and Oklahoma State are tough places to play in. Only a decent team can come out with wins, so they are decent at least. If they can beat Mizzou and Oklahoma, then they will have proven themselves.

if they run the table they have a very strong argument for being in the national championship game.. honestly idk wut the bcs is gonna do if that happens cuz idk if that would be enough to leap frog oregon and lsu (even tho personally i think it should but i dont think it will in the bcs rankings) assuming those two dont lose again but it will be entertaining to see every1 rip on the bcs if that happens
edit-- in response to the genius below me that is arguing hawaii should be in a national championship game.. go ahead and pick any team in the top 10 and tell me if they could beat boise state..? the answer for every team is yes and since thats the only other even legit team in the wac thats y going undefeated in the almighty western athletic conference doesnt mean as much to the rest of the nation.. congrats to hawaii on playing perfect all season but honestly they're not a national championship team

They should be #1 right now (judging by the same standards that made OSU #1). If they beat Mizzou, they should SURELY be #1. If they beat Mizzou and Oklahoma, they better be a unanimous #1 or they should just disband college football.
