Democrats, they want to rely on the government for everything. Just look at all their proposed entitlement programs. Look at all the social programs of the past (New Deal, Great society, War on Poverty etc.)

That's easy. Republicans. Their motto is if you don't trust the govt, they call you anti-American. The only way to be a Republican in their eyes is blind faith and trust in the govt. No checks and balance. Just trust. Now they're saying the Dems want to trust the govt to help poor people with programs, well yes, but we also endorse oversight and checks and balances. See, the average Dem would question the govt if money was turning up missing. Reps argue that they don't want the govt. controlling the health system but that's not their reason. They're just greedy. Their arguments aren't honest. Most Rep beliefs contradict one another proving that they're not giving the real reasons they oppose ideas. You can't come out and say, "I don't want MY money going to help the needy", so instead you say things like, "I care about the needy, but I don't think the govt. should get involved because they would only hurt these poor people more. Let charities do the work", even though time has proven that charities can't help everyone.

Easy one...the Democrats.
Their whole campaign is on how you should trust them to make decisions concerning Government and demagoging the republicans, but they fail to see that right.....or left...they are still the Government.
On the other hand Conservatives don't want big Government interferring in people's lives more than what is necessary to run the country or push along legislature that would actually do some good.
Socialist governments always rely on the government telling you what to do, which is what makes the right fear the left being in control of things.
Raising taxes to pay for government program...and many of these programs just grow larger or mutate into something they were never intended to do....Thus the Alternative minimum tax initiative the democrats started...as an example.
Most programs never get cut even though the reason for the program no longer exists. yet we still pay on it.
Those are just generalities of course, there have been programs on either side of the fence that people may say are more intrusive or less intrusive. Either way, considering Governments record in general to mess one's personal life up...regardless of who's in charge, I like to think that minimalist Government intrusion is the best.

Conservatives seem to think that just because their candidate is "religious", they are somehow trustworthy. They get voted in over and over by people who put the guise of religion over common sense.

Bush promoted himself as a "compassionate conservative" and all around religious guy, but his actions have been anything but. War? Rejection of the poor? Refusal to help out those in need? Laying in bed with money mongerers and elitists. Does the Bible not preach AGAINST these things?

Religious conservatives are in fact everything the Bible preaches against, so you tell me who puts more trust in these pretenders.

And Nightwing.......conservatives have advocated more interference with my life than ANY Democrat. Have you been looking at your government lately? Apparently not.

It's not a matter of who puts more trust, since both want to control the government. It's more of who creates a larger government or a government that can be trusted. Democrats tend to have bigger governments that levy heavier taxes, but as of Clinton, they've reversed that. Republicans tend to have smaller governments that levy less taxes, but with Bush and the Iraq War, we are experiencing more taxes in the form of dollar depreciation. To answer your question, I'd say Democrats are more trustworthy.

From a tax payer perpective, Democrats do, they have a more honest tax disclosure. Rebuplicans always say how they're cutting taxes and then we pay in cash that which taxes use to pay for

Democrats. To quote "The Government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on Paul's support."

Three thumbs down already?!?! I must be doing something right!

--Edit--Edit--
Four thumbs down! The truth hurts, I guess! Cite below shows what will happen if we let the Democrats take over the executive and legislative branches next year.
