I started to get nervous when it was 12:00am and there still wasn't any news. It would have been very nerve racking knowing Posada was talking to other teams. Thank god they signed him before he was allowed to make deals with other teams. I'm a bit surprised they gave him the 4 years, but at least that means he'll most likely retire in pinstripes. Now we need to get Mariano.

Jorge Posada belong with the Yankees. I can not imagine him playing anywhere else. I am happy for the Yankee fans that something finally went their way!

Jorge had a great year last year and deserved a new contract to remain a life-long Yankee. He is the best Yankee catcher since Thurmon Munson and defensively he has improved with the help of Tony Pena. I learned about the signing through your question so thank you !

Wow, a 4-year deal for a 36-year-old catcher.
That's quite a risk. Most catchers fall off a cliff statistically at that age. Posada did have a heck of a year, but it's a big gamble.
