What are some sites to find acting auditions/agents?

I need a site to find some acting auditions/jobs. What are some good sites?

I live upstate NY. Near Lake Placid and Canada.

none stay away lots of scams. you have to earn an agent by your experience and training, takes years of devoted hard work,. you dont just go get an agent, they pick you if you are good enoogh when you apply to them by sending them your head shot and resumel, oh yeah, your parents have to get you an agent if you are under 18 cause you cannot sign a contract.

Direct him to look at the National Council for Drama Training Website. On it's student pages there is a wealth of information about auditioning for drama school and courses available. Unless he has the push to get into the business without training (and it doesn't look like he has), training would be the best start for him. It gives techniques in acting and helps to start building contacts within the industry. The UK is not like America where it sounds (mostly from information from Yahoo Answers) that all you need is a head shot and your career is up and running. He needs to get experience and the best way is to train. He might not even want to pursue theatre as a career. You will have to respect his decision if this is the case.

It all depends on where you live. You don't want to use those national casting websites because chances are some aren't even real. Make sure to check your newspaper in the classifieds every Sunday or whenever you get the paper. Based on the state you live in the job market will look very different
