Do you punch the accelerator and give them the scare of their lives hopeing that it will scare them enough to use the crosswalk the next time? Or do you slow down and let them take their time jaywalking across the street? (most of the time I have seen these people doing this dangerous act with children in tow!)
I personally prefer to give them a scare, so next time they cross it's the safe way!

I just carry on driving right at them and then as I get level (by that time they have just skipped out of the way), I honk my horn repeatedly. This has not only the effect of making them jump but succeeds in drawing a lot of attention in their direction.

My mantra is this. Pedestrians in the cross walk have the right of way all others are fair game.

They may be idiots, but if you hit them, it doesn't matter at that point that they were Jay walking. You are the one that is in the wrong.
