jonmcn49 is on the money: consciousness has yet to be explained fully by science.
It is difficult to even *define* consciousness scientifically.
Cognitive neuroscience, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology are making headway into describing the functions of particular parts of your brain (emotion, shape-recognition, imagination, etc.) - but there does not appear to be one place that your consciousness resides.

science can explain allmost every part of the univirese includeing ppl but it has a hard time explaining the thout prosses .(mind soul whatever u call it )
science can explain every thing that is made up of matter including your brin but your thouts are not and is unexplain able
science can explain how animal behave they know what they do and how they doit and they can even explain what we do and how we do it but for nether animal or humaon science can not current ly explain thout science can explain how whe are able to think and why we do so science can explaine why we eat and how science can explain how the brain works but not what we are thinking science can even know are mood and if we are telling the truth if we are smart or dum if we do drugs or look a pron science can tell thes thing and why we do it but not what we think and it can not explain why we think ether
another thing science can not fully explain is the biggin or the end science say that in the bigging every thing was energy no phisical matter (E=MC2) which means energy =mass times the speed of light squared
in other words ther is a way to turn matter in to energy and energy in to matter and science belives that energy was the bigging of the univires and that it turnd in to matter (or anything with mass) and yet this may seem like an answer to the biggin of the univires it is not because it dose not say where this energy comes from now dose it ? so if we came from appes monkey fish bactirea singnal celled organisumes matter energy where did the enregy come from ?
so science can not expplain the biggin of the univers
but what about the end ?
they can not explain how or when the univires is over not even when hummons sese to egsits they can say what is likely to kill humaons what is likely to be the last liveing mortal thing on the earth and even what is going to dystory are solors setemem and galixs but not the end of the univeris some may spiculat that it will turn back in to energy but then what will happen to that energy ?is that still a univers
another thing that science cant answer is how many parllel universises are there it is a near infint nummber but ther is a set limet on how many there are it is called the stringtherey and it is based on this simple statment what can happen will happen and it means any and every littel thing that can happen will happen like if u move your pinky finger up when u drink your tea or something as smail as that to as big as if some one were to die this amount of parelal universes is almost limet less but it is not there is a limit but no one know what it is .
now i do not belive all of theis things suchas that we come from apps or the string thery but acourding to science and scientists this is what i learnd about thing that can not be explained

No part of you is not a physio-chemical process, though there are hierarchies of reduction. Consciousness has not been explained at the physio-chemical level, yet.
