Pretty, inexpensive jewelry is a winner! Silver earrings, bracelet or something of that sort it great!! Remember that she is old enough to appreciate it and love it but, young enough to lose it by accident. Don't get too extravagant yet! But, treat her like a little lady!! She will love it!

I have a goddaughter (my niece) - she is now 17 - but when she was about 12 years old I bought her a locket and put a picture of her Mom and Dad in it and had her initial engraved on the front. You could put any picture(s) you thought she might enjoy in it as well. And they can be changed throughout the years.
The one nice thing about a locket is that you can always put it on a different chain as they get grow up, etc. My niece still has hers and treasures it dearly.
Hope this helps.

I've gotten my goddaughter a locket that she can wear now and treasure for years to come.
I've also given her a string of 'grown up' pearls. they are in a nice case and too big for her right now. However, she loves to look at them and know that when she is a little older she'll have something beautiful to wear. It is a family tradition, and most of us have worn the pearls we were given at our weddings.
You also can't go wrong with an inexpensive cross.

I would suggest a reasonably priced wrist watch.
