first open the brackets
2y-2=3y+4
2y=3y+4+2=3y+6
2y-3y=6
-y=6
y=-6
y=mx+b
y=0x-6

2(y-1)=3y+4 ===> distribute 2 on the parenthesis
2y-2=3y+4 ===> transpose y to the left side and the numbers on the right side
2y-3y= 4+2 ===>simplify
-y=6 ===> interchange the signs
y=-6 ===> since there is no x on the equation we can put x with a multiplier of zero on the like this:
y=0x-6 ===> therefore the values of your M and B are:
M=0, and B=-6

hope this helps :P

2(y-1) = 3y+4
expand 2(y-1)
2y - 2 = 3y + 4
rearrange equation so y is on one side (what you do to one side, you must to do the other)
2y - 2 - 3y = 4 + 3y - 3y
now add 2 to both sides
2y - 2 - 3y +2 = 4 + 3y -3y + 2
collect like-terms
-y = 6
multiply -1 to both sides, to make y positive
y = (0x) - 6
m = 0 b = -6
the 0x is assumed and doesn't have to be written.

y = -6 would be your final answer, and it would be a horizontal line on a cartesian graph.

2y - 2 = 3y + 4
- 6 = y
y = - 6
m = 0
b = - 6
This is a horizontal line whose y value is always - 6
