She don't have much grass, mainly sandy for there yard. They are in the service, and said that area has had trouble with those kind of ants.

"Nandina" has hit the nail on the head!! She is absolutely correct in recommending "Over -N- Out". Its the best control on the market at this time. A big thumbs up to her.

Spectracide "Bugstop" and Ortho Fire Ant killer both work well here in Myrtle Beach, SC. Fire Ants are tenacious little buggers, she needs to watch the mounds for signs of reestablishing the mound. queen ant goes into overdrive to produce more queen ants to ensure her colony. Re apply killer if you see any signs of new "building".

We use grits here in south GA. Sprinkle the grits around the mound after dusk when they are all in the mound. They eat the grits and when they drink water the grits swell and kills them. Good luck!
