new cat with old bones
dying to sip spoiled milk
we all need more time.

Coiled spring tenses
Leaping shadows dance with light
Claws rake empty wall

Hacking in the living room,
Cleanup job for Mom.

Slinking black shadow
Pauses beneath moonlight beams,
Listens, then moves on.
