I was wondering if anyone out there knows any thing about clarinets and if anyone would be able to help me! My dad bought it about 15 years ago at a pawn shop. Can anyone give me an idea of about how much it would be worth?

add to other's: some of these were not nickel or silver plate. Some of these were real silver. Those have a considerable value as instruments, collectibles, and precious metal.

A jeweler can tell you what it's made from.

The value depends entirely on condition and whether it's silver or plated. Expect somewhere under $100 for the common instruments in "normal" condition and upwards of $1000 for a silver instrument in mint condition.

Many, many, many, many years ago....you get the picture, I hope, I took clarinet lessons as my start into a life time of music appreciation. I no longer play, but I remember my silver clarinet. Here is what I remember about it:

My dad bought it because it was cheap. It was considered a "student clarinet" or starter instrument. I did a little Google search on "metal clarinets" and found that many were made in the 1920's. Nobody seems to know if any are made any more. Once estimate of value was $600-$1000 depending on how many dings and dents were on it, who made it, etc.

I was just thinking: Try a Google search on Noble met clarinets. That may yield some better results. I prefer Google because they seem to have more entries on any give subject than some of the others. www.google.com.

I think my old metal clarinet was junked. Too bad. I could really use that money now! Too late! Oh well.

Good luck!

That should read "Noblet". They made a wide range of silver plated metal clarinets from the 1920's through the 1960's. The better ones have a raised up diamond on the bell. Most silver clarinets aren't very valuable but a good Noblet might sell for $100 or a little over on Ebay, if there are intererested bidders. They can be pretty decent instruments to play.
