What kind of jobs are available for people with law degrees who don't want to practice law?

There is contract law, real estate law among others. Talk to your advisor to help find your niche.

Lots of big companies have lawyers in their accounting or HR Departments.

Plus, of course, there are many, many different types of law practice, and a lot of them never include any courtroom practice.

The majority of lawyers DONT work in courtrooms. Most are:

transaction attorneys
real estate attorneys
wills/estates
corporate attorneys

Then you just flushed almost $200,000 dollars down the toilet. If you don't want to practice in the courtroom, why did you apply to and decide to go to law school. It seems to me that you should have thought about that before applying.

Not all lawyers go to court...mostly only criminal attorneys and appellate attorneys. Even civil litigators spend little time in the court room. You can still be a lawyer and not go to court.

well wait till you reach your 4th year in law school then you can appear to court, however under te supervision of your professor. wait for your practice court!
